The 9th i-News International Tea Party

The 9th Annual International Tea Party co-hosted by i-News and Imabari International Exchange Association (IIEA) was held on Saturday, February 28th, 2004. There were more than 100 people in attendance.
The party opened with a speech given by James Earnshaw from England.
He spoke about the cultural differences between his country and Japan, particularly through his experience learning karate. In listening to James'speech, we were given an interesting and unique perspective on his life in Japan. His friend, Stuart Adams, collaborated with him by translating the speech into fluent Japanese. The audience was pleased and impressed by their excellent performance.
After enjoying coffee and sweets, Robert McMillan from Canada talked about the realities of studying abroad programs. He and his partner have extensive experience in organizing study abroad programs and supporting overseas students. He talked about the various problems that may occur in study abroad situations, but he kept it on a light note with his good sense of humor. Robert partner, Machiko Ozawa pleasantly sang songs with her guitar.
The 9th annual international tea party was a great success. We would like to thank our speakers, performers, translators and volunteers for their contributions. With their help, the afternoon went smoothly, and all the guests had a very enjoyable time.
